چکیده
Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), also known as porous coordination polymers (PCPs), are an emerging class of materials. Due to their structural and functional tunability well the diversity rich applications, field MOFs has become one fastest-growing fields in not only chemistry but materials science. With maturation synthetic methodologies, structure characterization techniques functionality modifications, MOF research been a new era, with great efforts dedicated applications various directions, even on devices. Here, we greatly honored assemble compendium latest works synthesis, structures, applications. The special issue includes contributions from fourteen groups whose ranges design, characterizations MOF-based materials, including composites MOF-derived directions. Seven review articles present overviews flexible MOFs, conductive 2D conjugated thin films, vacancies, modified by post-synthesis, constructed iron-series elements, for towards carbon capture, (opto-)electronics, electrochemical energy storage conversion, photocatalysis CO2 reduction. report results novel electrically luminescence redox activity, efficient separation propylene propane ultramicroporous cyanide-based compound open metal sites, copper iodide cluster-based metal-organic polyhedra photocatalytic click chemistry, electrocatalysts selective oxidation small organic molecules anodic reaction boost electrolysis, plasmonic catalysts photoelectrochemical water splitting, bilanthanide instant detection 17β-estradiol, manipulation zirconocene-based cage using external host-guest stimuli. We hope that this will provide readers representative exciting views regarding development structures dynamic nature rapidly growing field, it is impossible cover all main aspects especially those recent achievements involved preparation issue. Recent advances in carbon dioxide capture with metalorganic frameworks
Uncontrolled massive release of the primary greenhouse gas carbon dioxide (CO2) into atmosphere from anthropogenic activities poses a big threat and adversely affects our global climate and natural environment. One promising approach to mitigate CO2 emission is carbon capture and storage (CCS), in which ideal adsorbent materials with high storage capacity and excellent adsorption selectivity ov...
متن کاملColloidal-sized metal-organic frameworks: synthesis and applications.
Colloidal metal-organic frameworks (CMOFs), nanoporous colloidal-sized crystals that are uniform in both size and polyhedral shape, are crystals composed of metal ions and organic bridging ligands, which can be used as building blocks for self-assembly in organic and aqueous liquids. They stand in contrast to conventional metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), which scientists normally study in the f...
متن کاملDrug delivery and controlled release from biocompatible metalorganic frameworks using mechanical amorphization
We have used a family of Zr-based metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) with different functionalized (bromo, nitro and amino) and extended linkers for drug delivery. We loaded the materials with the fluorescent model molecule calcein and the anticancer drug a-cyano-4-hydroxycinnamic acid (a-CHC), and consequently performed a mechanical amorphization process to attempt to control the delivery of gues...
متن کاملTransdisciplinary Synthesis and Cognition Frameworks
Many disciplines are wrought with high levels of uncertainty and many unknowns including transdisciplinary design. Hence, to achieve some advancement within a discipline, we must provide aids in achieving mitigation of complexity and increasing understanding. We achieve this by investigating beyond the boundaries of the existing discipline’s design concepts. This means stretching the boundaries...
